The Cleveland City Council met yesterday.
Council members approved several major zoning changes.
They approved a request to annex and rezone more than 92 acres along Pleasant Grove Road for a residential development. A zoning change was also approved on Baldwin Street NE for the Cleveland Church of Evangelical Faith to use nearly 3 acres for a storage building.
Two more annexation and rezoning requests from developer Bill Sanders were approved for about 40 acres along Pleasant Grove Road SW, rezoned for light industrial use.
Additional zoning changes were approved for T.L. Rogers Street NE, Strawberry Lane NE, and Frontage Road.
The city passed a resolution to apply for a grant for a competitive indoor swimming pool at the upcoming Sports, Events, and Aquatics Center at Hardwick Farms. The city would match up to $3.5 million.
City offices will be closed Monday, January 19 in observance of Martin Luther King Day.
The next city council meeting is Monday, January 26.
