From Local 3 News: United Airlines is slated to start temporarily offering flights from Chattanooga to Denver this summer.
The Chattanooga Airport announced the seasonal expansion on Thursday, January 15.
United will have flights every Saturday starting May 23, 2026 and ending October 24, 2026.
The new route, flown on an Embraer E-175 regional jet, offers Chattanooga another major gateway to the west, with dozens of connections to business hubs and key cities across the nation and world.
"Our local passengers have made it clear that Denver access is a priority, and we've worked closely with United to make it happen," stated April Cameron, president and CEO of the Chattanooga Airport in a release. "This route opens up the West in a way we've never had before. We want to thank United for its ongoing commitment to Chattanooga."
State Senator Bo Watson praised the move, saying it will enhance Tennessee's competitive position in attracting business investment and tourism dollars.
"Securing direct service to Denver strengthens Tennessee's position as a competitive hub for business and tourism," Watson stated in the same release. "This route connects our region to critical western markets and demonstrates what's possible when state and local partners align around economic development priorities. It's an investment in Chattanooga's future that will pay dividends for years to come."
Mayor Tim Kelly says he's excited for this direct flight opportunity:
"I’ve been advocating for a flight to Denver since I took office and United has delivered this new destination for Chattanooga. This route will improve access for residents heading to the Rockies and create stronger ties for our growing business community. Air service development is economic development, and this is another example of how our city keeps moving forward."
