Bradley County Commission meeting recap

The Bradley County Commission met yesterday.
 
Although the meeting was short, commissioners had several issues to discuss and voted on several resolutions. 
 
3rd District Commissioner, Milan Blake asked County Assistant Laurie Moultrie to look into the proposed amendment to the State Constitution that would ban the implementation of a statewide property tax. Blake would like to know more about how it could impact local governments.
 
6th District. Commissioner, Tim Mason made a couple of announcements during the meeting. First, September 28th is Keep America Beautiful Tire Takeback Day. The event will take place at the Bradley County Justice Center from 8 am until Noon. 
 
November 2nd will be Fall Household Hazardous Waste Day at the Bradley County Justice Center from 8 am until Noon. 
 
7th District Commissioner Josh Rogers made a motion to pass a resolution to amend and update Bradley County’s MS4 Phase II Stormwater Management Policy. The motion passed 13-0. 
 
5th District Commissioner, Cindy Slater made a motion to approve the Bradley County Schools’ budget amendment to give employees an additional 1% pay increase. The increase will not change the system’s budget or require any new debt. The motion passed.
