9/16/24 - Bradley County Commission Voting Session
The Bradley County Commission met yesterday for a voting sesson.
Milan Blake, Finance Committee Chairman, and 3rd District Commissioner made a motion to purchase 10 pairs of low voltage emitter gloves for the Bradley County Sheriff's Office. The purchase will be funded with ARP funds. The motion passed unanimously.
Blake also made motions to approve two public water funding applications.
One is for 3330 Rakestraw Road, which is an $80,000 project. Cleveland Utilities will contribute $20,000 and the County will contribute $22,500 to the project.
The second proposal is for 1657 White Oak Valley Road. The project will cost $28, 800. Cleveland Utilities will fund $14,400 and the County will fund $7,200 for the project.
Both resolutions passed 14-0.
Blake also informed the Commission that the Finance Committee voted to recommend requiring public water fund applicants claiming contaminated wells to provide proof of contamination. After discussion, the commissioners decided to send the issue to the Legal and Legislative Committee for review.
1ST District Commissioner Mike Hughes presented a resolution authorizing the County Mayor to negotiate and enter into an agreement with CINTAS Corporation for uniform rental services for Bradley County Fire and Rescue. The contract will be for a term of 36 months.
7th District Commissioner, Josh Rogers made a motion to rezone from Forestry/Agricultural/Residential to a Rural Residential District for property located at 3784 Benton Pike NE and Cedar Creek Crossing Road SE. The motion passed 9-5.
Rogers also presented a motion to rezone from Forestry/Agricultural/Residential to Rural Residential for a property located at 4050 Spring Place Road SE. The motion passed 11-3.
