Cleveland City Council 02-25-25
During the meeting, two announcements were made about road work starting this week that will require temporary road closures.
Parker Street will experience closures today as road crews handle 4-way stop conversions. Drivers are urged to use caution in the area and follow the signage.
Wednesday night, a portion of Paul Huff Parkway will be closed at the HWY 60 intersection. Candy Creek Ridge Road will serve as a temporary detour. Crews will try to finish the heavy paving at the intersection overnight, but there is a chance that the closure could continue on Thursday. Hwy 60 will remain open.
Also during the meeting, City Manager Joe Fivas gave Council members updates on several projects.
Fivas said paving on Paul Huff Parkway will begin in late April or early May. Milling will begin on the eastbound lane first, then will switch to the westbound side.
Tinsley Park’s new pickleball courts won’t be paved until the Spring due to low temperatures.
Utility lines will be taken down on Church Street and some streetscape work will be done this Spring.
Mouse Creek Road will be widened and some lifting and straightening of the road is expected during the project. However, the project will not begin until the work at Tinsley Park is complete.
Mayor Kevin Brooks also appointed Clark Taylor, Jamie Creekmore, Alma Dodson, and Dr. Tiffany Sherlin to the City of Cleveland Planning Commission.
The next City Council meeting will be held on Monday, March 10th.
