Cleveland City Council Meeting Session 2 06-24-25
City Manager Joe Fivas shared updates on multiple development projects. At the Cleveland Jetport, construction of 10 new hangars will begin in July, with future taxiway expansion also being planned.
At Jim Sharp Park, work continues on extending the Greenway under the bridge and adding restrooms.
A $940,000 bid was approved for upgrades at Tinsley Park, including a new pickleball pavilion, restrooms, entrance sign, and pavilion renovations. Construction will begin soon, with dog park expansion and Greenway improvements expected by late August.
Council also approved sponsorship opportunities for park amenities, following the finalization of project bids.
Members also praised recent progress on Paul Huff Parkway and recognized Officer Jordan Martin for rescuing a child and mother from storm debris on Pleasant Grove Drive.
Cleveland will receive a statewide award in August from the Tennessee Municipal League for excellence in community development.
