Cleveland City Council Work Session 08-25-25
The Cleveland City Council met yesterday-
Council recognized Cleveland Police Officer Justin Martin, recently named Tennessee’s Officer of the Year. They also honored Cleveland City Schools for securing new grants to support aviation and welding programs.
Council held a public hearing on this year’s Community Development Block Grant funds, which brought more than $360,000 for homebuyer assistance, sidewalk improvements, code enforcement, and planning.
Members also approved rezoning for 22 acres along William Street, allowing for townhomes and green space preservation, with road and traffic upgrades required before construction permits are issued.
A separate rezoning request for multi-family housing on 25th Street was narrowly voted down.
