Bradley County Commission - Finance Committee 08-04-25

Aug 4, 2025

The Bradley County Commission met last night.

Commissioners unanimously approved a resolution allowing Mayor Gary Davis to sign a three-year agreement with Cleveland State Community College. The agreement will ensure continued enrollment of county first responders in the college’s EMT, AEMT, and paramedic programs.

Another resolution passed to enter into a 10-year, nearly $3 million contract with Axon Enterprises. The deal provides body and fleet cameras, tasers, drone services, and a digital evidence management system for the Bradley County Sheriff’s Office.

Commissioners also voted to reconcile county liability accounts, moving over $47,000 to the general fund, and approved a corrected version of the county’s appropriations resolution for the current fiscal year.

A proposal to fund work at the Minnis Road fire facility failed to advance. The Finance Committee had recommended tabling a request to clear and pave the site at a reduced estimated cost of $75,000. However, the full commission rejected that recommendation in a 7-to-5 vote, sending the issue back to committee. Finance is expected to meet again before their scheduled September session.
