Bradley County Commission Work Session 10/14/24
The County Commission met yesterday for a work session.
County Mayor, Gary Davis announced that the County has received the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting for the fiscal year ending in June 2023 from the Government Finance Officers Association. It is the highest form of annual recognition.
3rd District Commissioner and Finance Committee Chairman, Milan Blake announced the HCI committee will meet today Tuesday, October 15th, at 5:30 pm to plan for the next grant cycle.
4th District Commissioner Scotty Gilbert placed on the next voting session agenda a letter to the Bradley County Legislative Delegation requesting lawmakers consider Bradley County Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center as a Veterans Affairs Community Care Provider for Bradley County veterans. 3rd District Commissioner Josh Rogers also asked that Bradley County’s federal delegation be added to the letter. The issue was placed on the October 21st voting session agenda.
7th District Commissioner Josh Rogers placed a resolution to rezone property on the next voting session’s agenda. The resolution would rezone a Forestry/Agricultural/Residential District to a General Industrial District for property located at Michigan Avenue Road and Wilkinson Road.
A citizen, Bob Nipper, presented the Commission with a petition with over 80 names in his area for a three-way stop sign system to be placed at the Moore Circle Road and Moore Road intersection. The issue will be discussed by the Road Committee.
The next meeting of the Commission will be a Voting Session on Monday, October 21, at noon.
