Bradley County Commission Voting Session
The Bradley County Commission met yesterday.
Commissioners voted to cancel the November 25th and December 23rd work sessions to allow commissioners to travel for holidays.
Third District Commissioner and Finance Committee Chairman, Milan Blake told Commissioners that the HCI Committee met and determined that $730,000 will be available to award this year. The committee is now accepting letters of intent for projects in the areas of health, wellness, and quality of life. The deadline is December 13th at 4:30 pm. Those wanting to apply or learn more should contact Louri Moultrie.
7th District Commissioner Bill Winters made a motion to submit a letter to the Bradley County Federal and State Legislative Delegations requesting consideration of Bradley Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center as a Veterans Affairs Community Cares Program Provider. The motion passed unanimously.
A rezoning request for an 89-acre property on Wilkinson Road was also unanimously approved by the Commission. The property, previously zoned for Forestry, Agriculture, and Residential use, will now be designated as I-1 General Industrial property.
This is the second time the property has come before the Commission. A similar request was denied in November 2023.
The new zoning will allow for five warehouses, a private baseball and softball facility, and potential future residential development.
The next meeting of the Country Commission will be a work session on October 28, at 7:00 p.m., at the Bradley County Courthouse.
