Seven local communities among 30 in TN to receive 2025 Tourism Enhancement Grants

From Local 3 News: More than half a million dollars has been awarded to local communities by the Tennessee Department of Tourist Development (TDTD).

On Wednesday, TDTD Commissioner Mark Ezell said that 30 towns, cities, or counties across the state, including seven local communities, will receive funding from the more than $2 million in Tourism Enhancement Grants being awarded.

Here are the seven communities and the amount of the grant awarded:

1. City of Charleston - Bradley County: $52,500
2. City of Coalmont - Grundy County: $100,000
3. Town of Tracy City - Grundy County: $100,000
4. City of Chattanooga - Hamilton County: $90,000
5. City of South Pittsburg - Marion County: $100,000
6. City of Etowah - McMinn County: $100,000
7. Meigs County Government - Meigs County: $95,000

Commissioner Ezell said the grants help cities and counties enhance experiences, draw more visitors and increase economic impact by funding eligible projects including:

• Improvements to stages
• Signage
• Historic preservation
• American Disabilities Act (ADA) accessibility
• Other upgrades to local attractions and venues

“Tourism is a key driver of economic growth,” said Commissioner Mark Ezell, TDTD. “When we invest in local attractions and experiences, we’re supporting small businesses, creating jobs and generating visitor-paid tax dollars that benefit Tennesseans in every community.”

This year, Tourism Enhancement Grants were awarded to 12 at-risk and distressed communities.
