No cost medical clinics coming to Rhea & Bledsoe Counties July 11-21

From Local 3 News: No cost medical clinics are being hosted in Rhea County, Bledsoe County for Operation Healthy Tennessee between Friday, July 11 and Monday, July 21 for everyone over the age of 3.
 
The clinics will be held at the following locations:

• Bledsoe County High School
  • 877 main Street, Pikeville
  • 8:00am - 4:00pm (CT)
• Rhea County Middle School
  • Eagle Lane, Evensville
  • 8:00am - 4:00pm (ET)

Both clinics will be closed on Saturday, July 19.

Patients will be treated on a first-come, first-served basis by military personnel. No ID is required, say organizers, nor is income or residency requirements.

The following services will be provided at the no-cost clinic:

• Vision
  • Screenings
  • Single vision prescription glasses
• Dental
  • Fillings
  • Extractions
  • Limited exams
  • NO dentures available
• Basic medical
  • Sports physicals
  • Wellness checks
  • Chronic medical checkups

“We’re proud to be serving the people of Bledsoe County, Rhea County, and the surrounding areas,” said 1st Lt. Danielle Lloyd, officer-in-charge of Operation Healthy Tennessee. “These missions mean a lot to us, they give us the chance to use our skills to make a real difference for those who need it most. We’re also grateful to work alongside local partners and organizations who care deeply about their communities. Even though we’re only here for a short time, the relationships we build and the impact we leave behind stay with us long after we go.”

Veterinary services will also be available at the Rhea County Fairgrounds behind the Rhea County Health Department, including:

• Wellness exams
• Spaying/Neutering
  • Drop off between 8:00am and 9:00am
• Microchip implantations and vaccinations for both cats and dogs available while supplies last.

For your cat or dog to be eligible for surgery, they must meet the following requirements:

• Not have food or water after midnight prior 
• Older than 3 months
• Minimum weight for cats: 2 lbs.
• Minimum weight for dogs: 3 lbs.
• On a leash
• Properly vaccinated with records (rabies vaccines provided if needed)
