From Local 3 News: UPDATE: A Meigs County teenager is facing a murder charge in the shooting death of a man at a home in Georgetown on Tuesday.
District Attorney General Russell Johnson said a juvenile delinquent petition for First Degree Murder has been taken out on a 15-year-old girl in a deadly shooting at a home in the 200 block of Gunstocker Road.
General Johnson said the victim, Richard High, was killed by a single gunshot wound during the early morning hours of June 10.
A detention hearing has been scheduled in Meigs County Juvenile Court on Thursday, June 12 at 1:00 pm.
"Our office will be prosecuting the case in juvenile court at this time. No decision has been made yet relative to whether the juvenile will be transferred to adult court for prosecution. As in these types of cases, we expect that there will be court ordered evaluations of the juvenile given the seriousness and nature of the crime and the age of the juvenile,” General Johnson said in a statement on Wednesday.
The name of the teenager has not been released because she is a minor.
The TBI is helping with the investigation.

The scene is at a home at 245 Gunstocker Road in the Georgetown area.
The owner of the property involved in the investigation says he lives in Unit A and has been renting Unit B to a father and two children since January. He said he was surprised to learn about the situation.
The property owner says he didn't hear anything until police arrived at 5:00am.
Meigs County Sheriff's Office Chief Deputy Brian Malone confirms the investigation to Local 3 News.
Malone said the TBI is also investigating.
No other information has been released at this time.
