UPDATE: White County plane crash victims identified

From Local 3 News: UPDATE: The three people killed in a small plane crash on Saturday have been identified.

Pilot Jonathan Braun, Dylan Clay Davis, and his wife Kelsie Lynn Davis of Alabama were killed when the plane went down on Almyra Road just before noon.



PREVIOUS STORY: Three people are dead after a small plane crashed in White County, according to the Upper Cumberland Airport Director Dean Selby.

NBC affiliate WSMV4 reported that the crash happened just before 12:00pm on Saturday, April 26. They say three people were on the plane when it crashed on Almyra Road.

“We run out of this airport anywhere from 90 to some days 200, 300 operations a day, and this is the first accident I’m aware of that this airport has had in 15-16 years that involved a fatality,” Selby said.

According to WSMV4, Selby said someone had spotted the plane as it was going down and called it in to 911. They say it took some time to locate the plane crash.

“We had one of our pilots actually go up and try to look from an aerial standpoint who actually identified the crash site,” he said.

Selby says that none of the victims' identities have been released yet, but confirmed that they included two men and one woman.

An investigation begins Sunday, April 27 to determine the cause of the crash, according to the National Transportation Safety Board and the Federal Aviation Administration.

“None of the wreckage will be removed until they have completed their initial investigations and documented everything that they need to document before we move forward to the next stage,” Selby said.
