House Democratic Caucus elects leadership, Clemmons remains Caucus Chair

From Local 3 News: The Tennessee House Democratic Caucus elected its leadership positions on Saturday, November 23 for the upcoming 114th General Assembly of the Tennessee House of Representatives.

Representative Karen Camper of Memphis will remain the House Democratic Leader, and Nashville Representative John Ray Clemmons will continue in his title as Caucus Chair.

Other positions elected today are as follows:

• Assistant Democratic Leader — Representative Harold Love of Nashville
• Democratic Whip — Representative Sam McKenzie of Knoxville
• House Floor Leader — Representative Torrey Harris of Memphis
• Caucus Vice-Chair — Representative Bob Freeman of Nashville
• Caucus Treasurer — Representative Ronnie Glynn of Clarksville
• Caucus Secretary — Representative Yusuf Hakeem of Chattanooga
• Democratic Leader Pro Tempore — Representative Larry Miller of Memphis

Freshman lawmakers Shaundelle Brooks of Nashville were also elected as Assistant House Floor Leader, and Gabby Salinas of Memphis was chosen as the new Assistant Democratic Whip.

Additionally, Representative Johnny Shat of Bolivar and Nashville Representative Vincent Dixie were elected to fill the two House Democratic positions on the Joint Fiscal Review Committee.
