Bradley County Commission meeting recap
The County Commission met last night.
Mayor Gary Davis presented a resolution to install new forward-facing cameras in ambulances. The County will be using a new vendor as the contract ended with the previous vendor. The new contract would be a multi-year lease for cameras and software. The cost will be $6,000 for the first year and $5,900 for years two and three. The mayor will explore any lease and purchase options for the county.
6th District Commissioner Tim Mason presented several resolutions based on recommendations from the Road Committee.
First, the Commission unanimously voted to accept Carolina Lane, located off Old Charleston Road, as a county road.
The commission also voted to lower the speed limit on Bell Chase Way and Bellingham Drive. The new speed limits will be placed at three entrances to the developments.
3rd District Commissioner, Denny Collins gave Commissioners a Greenway Board Update. Work on the Inman Street Trailhead, near Starbucks, will start in the Spring of 2025.
Jim Sharp Park will begin construction this month off of Candies Creek Lane as a part of the Candies Creek Greenway area.
The Fillauer Branch Greenway will begin construction in October.
7th District Commissioner, Josh Rogers made a motion to submit a request to the City of Cleveland to annex a portion of Minnis Road from 64 Highway to Powerline Road. This action is related to the City building the new fire station on Minis Road in exchange for the County EMS building on Inman Street. The annexation will allow the City to maintain that section of Minis Road in front of the new fire station. The motion unanimously passed.
The Commission will next week for a work session on Monday, August 12th at noon. You can watch yesterday’s meeting in its entirety at Mixtv.tv
