Bradley County Commission 09-08-25

Sep 8, 2025

The Bradley County Commission met yesterday for a work session.

Mayor Gary Davis presented several resolutions that will be placed on the commission’s next voting agenda.

These include a contract with a second company to provide mental health services for first responders, a three-year phone service contract for the courthouse and juvenile center, and a three-year contract for cardiac monitors for the ambulance service.

During the meeting, it was also reported that the City/County Fire Tax Committee has reached an agreement with the City of Cleveland. If property is annexed between the old and new urban growth boundaries, the City of Cleveland will pay the county the prorated fire tax at the time of annexation and continue payments for the next two years.

Bradley County Trustee Mike Smith also gave his annual report, noting the county’s finances are in excellent condition. More than 1,900 residents are enrolled in partial payment programs, which brought in over $1 million last year. Smith highlighted that more than $15 million in unused fees have been returned to the county during his tenure as Trustee. He also announced this was his final report, as he will not be running for re-election next cycle.

The next commission meeting will be a voting session on Monday, September 15, at noon at the courthouse.
