Bradley County Schools Work Session 10-14-25

Oct 14, 2025

During the meeting, board members were given updates on several projects at Bradley Central High School.

The  Baseball Fieldhouse project is moving forward, with the goal of not disrupting the upcoming baseball season.

The security entry vestibule is nearly complete, with only a few remaining tasks.

The science wing design is being updated to qualify as a FEMA storm shelter in hopes of getting a federal grant to help pay for the project.

Other projects discussed include:

Phase one of Hopewell Elementary’s expansion has started, with 12 new classrooms set to open next fall.

At Ocoee Middle, elevation adjustments and outdoor green space are in progress.

Park View Elementary has begun site clearing after a successful bid. The playground will be relocated first to make room for the new planned expansion construction.

The board also discussed ongoing community growth and the impact on schools, especially in the northern and eastern parts of the county.

To address growth concerns, the board is exploring a 600-student elementary school on Dry Valley Road, about 1.5 miles past the jetport, on county-owned land.

Expansion at Waterville Elementary was also discussed. The school may expand by eight classrooms and enlarge the cafeteria.

The next Priorities Work Session will be held on November 18 at 5:00 pm.
