During committee and district reports, several commissioners shared brief updates.

Commissioner Howard Thompson encouraged residents to take advantage of early voting, noting there is still time to cast ballots.

Commissioner Tommy Ledford highlighted this weekend’s Relay for Life event. Activities begin at 1 p.m., with opening ceremonies at 5 p.m. The annual ice cream eating contest is scheduled for 7 p.m., with donations supporting cancer research and awareness.

Commissioner Milan Blake congratulated Lee University’s baseball team on a strong season. The team finished with a 34-and-15 record and went 21-and-5 at home. They have earned the number two seed in the Gulf South Conference Championship and will compete this Saturday.

There were no items on the agenda for consideration.

During the public comment period, a resident, Todd Bills addressed the commission with concerns related to landfill operations in Bradley County. 

The Bradley County Commission will hold its next voting session on Monday, May 4th at 7 p.m.
