From Local 3 News: Volkswagen announced plans to lay off some salary and administrative positions on Tuesday.
A spokesperson for Volkswagen told Local 3 News: “Volkswagen is implementing a global performance program to drive efficiency and cost savings at its core brand. Some salaried and administrative positions in our U.S. business are impacted. Hourly workers in our assembly plant are not impacted. As with any reorganization, we are supporting our employees through this transition.”
Our partners at the Times Free Press were told less than 50 positions at the Chattanooga Volkswagen location will be affected, none being production workers.
